As Engineering Manager – Marketing Tech, you’ll join the engineering leadership team with ownership of the marketing domain. You’ll partner closely with the SVP Marketing, functional chapter leads (demand generation, customer engagement, marketing data) and product managers to define product roadmaps and the technology strategy that best supports marketing outcomes. Together with your engineering peers, you’ll also drive the integration of the marketing domain across customer products, enterprise systems, data and technical platforms.
We’re currently building our marketing tech teams, transitioning from a service‑provider model to a product mindset. You’ll help establish cross‑functional teams aligned to user journeys and internal partners from awareness to registration, covering e‑commerce, website, marketing automation and the customer engagement platform.

Building an empowered product team
- Hire and grow marketing‑domain teams covering public applications (website, webshop), internal workflow automation, and the overall marketing tech landscape, while leading engineers through a balance of technical leadership and people management.
- Ensure strong flow and best practices by working closely with product management and UX to deliver high‑quality products and drive team performance.
Driving business impact
- Translate marketing and company strategy into clear technical initiatives that deliver measurable commercial outcomes across revenue growth, customer acquisition and retention, and operational efficiency.
- Partner closely with marketing leadership to evaluate trade‑offs, prioritize high‑impact initiatives, and balance short‑term results with long‑term platform scalability.
Cultivating excellence
- Build and lead a modern, cross‑functional product team spanning marketing tooling, backend, data, and frontend capabilities to execute the roadmap.
- Grow engineers through mentorship, coaching, and career development by fostering a culture of knowledge sharing, feedback, continuous improvement, and a product mindset focused on user outcomes aligned with strategic marketing goals.
Partnering with engineering leadership
- Collaborate with other Engineering Managers to align initiatives with the broader technology strategy and contribute to shared platforms, engineering standards, and career frameworks.
- Participate in peer mentoring and actively share experiences and learnings with other engineering leaders.

Tech Stack: Typescript, Azure, Kubernetes, Databricks
- Proven experience managing product teams of at least four engineers and setting them up for success, ideally across multiple products.
- Strong technical foundation and engineering best practices, with a broad understanding of architecture, system design, and managing complexity rather than specific technologies.
- Clear product mindset, focused on measurable outcomes and balancing short‑term impact with long‑term value.
- Ideally experienced in marketing domains, with familiarity in areas such as SEO, customer data platforms, data‑driven marketing, or analytics tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; German is a plus due to a predominantly German target audience.
